What should I wear
Firstly we want to capture something that is authentically you, its therefore very much down to your preference and personality. There are however a couple of useful tips we can give that will help you decide what to wear or what to shop for if you fancy using it as an excuse to pick up a new outfit! The first tip would be to check out our Instagram or head to Pinterest and see what other people have worn for inspiration. Secondly, if there are a few of you, select a colour scheme you like and then try to carry that through each of your outfits. Just 2 or perhaps 3 colours that work together is often best. If you’re not sure where to start, then neutral such as creams blended with black always makes for stunning timeless images. Be strategic if opting for patterned clothing, Patterns such as check shirts can add interest to images and help bring together a couple of colours. Too much pattern however can overcrowd the images so perhaps blending in some bold or block clothing choices will help bring the whole image together. Finally, remember with these images you will be able to create some stunning artwork, that will sit forever in your home. If you have a space in mind, visualise what it may look like.
Is there somewhere to get changed?
We generally recommend selecting 1 outfit for the experience. That way you can get ready before you come and make the most of the time at the photoshoot. It also enables us to build beautiful collections of images that blend well together due to a consistent colour style across the images. We recommend, you prepare for your shoot as normal at home prior to attending the experience. This gives you the time to feel and look your best and ensures you make the most of your time with the photographer. We understand there are occasions when you are travelling from afar that you may wish to put the finishing touches to your look at the studio. While we don’t have a specific separate dressing room, We do however have a very nice bathroom space with large countertop and mirror perfect for checking makeup etc. The studio itself is also private so if necessary you could use the first 5 mins of your time there to change. Or check yourself in the full length mirror on offer. *If however you are having a solo photoshoot experience. In this case we would recommend 2 or perhaps 3 outfits and there will be plenty of time to get changed during the shoot and still get all the images you desire. Likewise for Newborn or tiny baby shoots, you may wish to bring a second outfit for them and that would also be fine. We also have a lovely baby change area with spare wipes and a small selection of spare nappies should you need.
Do I need to arrive early? / What happens if I am late?
Your appointment time is the time you have booked with your photographer. In order to make the most of the experience we strongly recommend arriving 15 mins prior to your appointment time. It does have a big impact on the experience arriving late. We always need time at the start of the session to discuss the main focus of the shoot and talk you through what we are capturing in the session.
